Education Liaison visit us visiting students

On Campus Visits & Events

For students interested in studying their degree at the University of Lincoln, or for those who would like to know more about routes in Higher Education in general, the best way to discover more is to visit our campus and spend some time with us.

We offer a number of different types of opportunities for your students to see what we do here, all of which allow them to meet with current undergraduates, find out about student life, see what courses we offer, speak with academics, explore our campus, experience a taster lecture and discover more about Lincoln.

UCAS Days

Between September and December, we will be running UCAS Days. These will be aimed at providing groups of Year 13 students talks and workshops around Personal Statement writing, Choosing the Right University, Student Finance, and generally give the students a huge insight and help into the application process through UCAS.

Transferable Skills

From January onwards, we will be running Transferrable Skills Days. These will be open to both Year 12 and 13 students, and will be a series of workshops introducing Higher Education learning and benefits, and broaching the subject that each degree will be able to enhance employability in exactly the same ways, regardless of the subject matter.

Taster Days

Our individual faculties also run specific Taster days, where they run several subject-related workshops and the opportunity for students to look around the specific subject buildings and facilities.

There will be a range of subject Taster Days throughout the year, but if there is a certain subject you are keen on being part of, by all means get in touch. If you are interested in bringing a cohort of Year 12/13 students to one of these, please contact Rebecca Wills on rwills@lincoln.ac.uk.

Fast Forward Taster Days (Outreach Pre 16)

With a focus on younger learners in years 9-11, our Fast Forward Taster Days form part of our outreach programme and are designed to shape younger students’ aspirations, improve their grades and increase their prospects of a higher education.

There are sessions on improving study skills, learning new revision techniques, using information, advice and guidance effectively, and increasing self motivation and ambitions to succeed. Each year group will have its own particular remit, but we intend for every student who visits the University of Lincoln on a Fast Forward Day to leave with new learning tools which will help them with their studies back in school.

In addition to the skills workshops, students have the opportunity to spend time with current undergraduates, explore the campus and get a feel for what life is like at university. For many, this will be their first experience of higher education, and we want them to leave with a desire to come back.

If you would like to discuss bringing a group or groups of students to our Fast Forward Days, or would like more information about what's on the programme, please get in touch.

The Fast Forward Week is expected to take place in late January/early February 2015. Dates will be released in due course.
