How you pay for accommodation
Usually, you will be expected to pay rent either monthly or termly. You might be asked to pay in advance.
Some landlords ask for a month or full term's rent in advance. You will have to pay this before moving in. Please note that this payment may be due before you receive any Maintenance Grants or Loans. You may have to arrange finance to cover this interim period.
You pay a down payment as a holding fee to secure your accommodation when you book - you should get this back when you are resident.
Some landlords ask for a deposit to be paid before you move in. This is what you pay the landlord as security against property damage etc. It is refundable when you leave the property, provided that it is left in the same condition as when you moved in. Please note that this payment may be due before you receive any Maintenance Grants or Loans. You may have to arrange finance to cover your deposit.
Residential ‘Partnership Halls’ have been developed with landlords in line with the City of Lincoln Accreditation Scheme, specifically for students of the University of Lincoln. These have been developed in association with the University Accommodation Service and are all within a five minutes walk of the main Brayford Pool campus.

Hayes Wharf House
Hayes Wharf House is a purpose-built student residence overlooking the Brayford Pool campus. Its 224 en-suite bedrooms are provided in shared apartments of two to five bedrooms.
Facilities include an LCD television in every apartment, on-site laundry facilities and internet access. Personal possessions insurance is included.
Located in the city centre, just opposite the university, The Junxion offers 569 en-suite bedrooms provided in four, five or six-bedroom apartments with fully fitted living areas.
Designed around a central courtyard, facilities include a lounge, laundrette and cash machines. All apartments have leather sofas, 32” LCD televisions, free TV licence for the TV set provided, Freeview and dishwashers. Contents insurance and broadband internet in all bedrooms is included in the rent.
Located close to the Brayford Pool campus and a two-minute walk from the city centre, Park Court is a purpose built development offering 289 en-suite study bedrooms arranged as four and five-bedroom apartments with a shared fully fitted kitchen.
Facilities include WiFi and Broadband, IPTV, a lounge with 50” Plasma TV, Freeview and DVD player, contents insurance, CCTV and secure fob entry system, on-site laundry facilities and limited on-site parking available.
Pavilion House is adjacent to the University’s Sports and Recreation Centre. The accommodation provides 1,329 en-suite bedspaces ranging from self-contained studio flats to six-bedroom apartments which include leather sofas, 32” LCD televisions with free TV licence and Freeview.

St Marks House
St Marks House is a purpose built student residence located in the city centre, very close to the university.
St Marks House offers 116 bedrooms, which includes self-contained Studios, en-suite 5 bedroom cluster apartments and non en-suite 2 bedroom apartments.
There is also an on-site launderette and internet in all bedrooms is included.
These developments are located off-campus but are all within five to fifteen minutes’ walk from the University and city centre.
Aqua House is situated on the north bank of the Fossdyke canal, on Harvey Street, less than half a mile from the city centre and the main Brayford Pool campus. The building consists of 75 study bedrooms with television and wireless internet access. Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry facilities are shared.
This secure, purpose-built development of 22 apartments each containing between three and six bedrooms is situated on Carholme Road, only a few minutes walk from the main Brayford Pool campus. Each kitchen is fully equipped and includes crockery and cutlery. Bedrooms have wireless internet access.
Cathedral Street Apartments
This development of 94 study bed spaces comprises 24 apartments. Apartments range in size from two to six bedrooms with shared kitchens and shower rooms. Each apartment has its own separate lounge with flat screen TV. Inclusive high speed broadband (20Mbps as standard with upgrade option), free Apple TV in every apartment, TV licence, possessions insurance and all bills are included.
Danesgate House is a recently refurbished development with 249 rooms all of which are en-suite. Apartments range in size from 4-16 bedrooms and also includes some studio apartments.
Hayes House is a purpose built student property, providing 39 en-suite rooms within 7 apartments. Each apartment has its own fully furnished and equipped kitchen and lounge , 32 inch flat screen TV and a dishwasher. The study rooms all have wired and wireless internet, TV points and ¾ beds. The building is ideally located only yards away from the main Brayford Pool campus and the City Centre making it an ideal place for both undergraduate and post graduate students to study.
Park View provides priority accommodation for Nursing students. Located within 15 minutes’ walk of the Brayford Pool Campus, it offers 52 rooms some en-suite. Car parking is available.
Recently constructed, provides 69 en-suite rooms within 23, 3 bedroom apartments. The property is located close to the main Brayford Pool campus and provides a study environment for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. All study rooms have modern fully fitted furniture, ¾ beds and en-suites. All kitchen and lounge areas have a wall mounted 32 inch flat screen TV. The building provides a hardwired and wireless 50 Mbs internet connection all included within the all-inclusive rent. There is a fully equipped on-site laundrette and management office staffed Mon-Fri 9-5pm with a dedicated out of hours emergency service.

It is important to realise that any tenancy accepted with an accredited landlord is for a fixed period and that the tenancy can be enforced even if you leave the University. Please study tenancy agreements carefully before you sign.
