During the Ceremony

Just before the presentation of awards begins, a speech will be given about the ceremony and etiquette.

Guests are reminded to respect fellow audience members when taking photographs or filming the ceremony. We ask that guests stay seated and do not obstruct other guests' view.

Children

If you are bringing children to the graduation ceremony, we politely ask that you try to keep them quiet and seated throughout the ceremony, in respect of this special day.

We politely ask guests with children to sit toward the back of the Cathedral, as this will make it easier to reach the exit in case you need to leave during the ceremony. Any noise is amplified in the Cathedral and can quite easily spoil the special day for the other guests and graduands.

Please note: due to health and safety regulations, children over two years old will require their own ticket and will not be able to sit on laps. The graduation ceremony will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes to one hour and thirty minutes.

After the Ceremony

Once all the graduates have been conferred their awards, the audience will be asked to stand as the procession leaves the Cathedral. Everyone is asked to remain standing for this. The graduates will be part of the procession and it is important that guests meet graduates within the Castle grounds after the ceremony.

All graduates and guests are then invited to attend the Celebration Reception at the celebration marquee in the Castle grounds, lasting approximately one hour.
