The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017

In The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, Lincoln rates in the top 10 nationally for both teaching quality and student experience.

National Student Survey 2016 

The University of Lincoln has some of the most satisfied students in the UK, placed in the top 10 for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2016 (August 2016) with several of our courses ranked number one for their subject areas.

Best Students' Union

The University of Lincoln’s Students’ Union won the title Students' Union of the Year at the National Union of Students (NUS) Awards 2014.

Quality Assurance Agency (QAA)

We are pleased to note the excellent outcome from the latest (2012) Institutional Review of the University by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).

In the four areas where formal judgments are given, the report confirms that:

  • the academic standards of the University’s awards meet UK expectations for threshold standards
  • the quality of student learning opportunities meets UK expectations
  • the enhancement of student learning opportunities is commended
  • the quality of the University’s information about learning opportunities meets UK expectations.

QAA Institutional Review

Research Excellence Framework (REF2014)

The quality and breadth of research at the University of Lincoln was highlighted in the national Research Excellence Framework 2014.

More than half (53%) of the University’s submitted research was rated as internationally excellent or world leading (3* or 4*). World leading (4*) research was identified in almost every area with 90% of research judged to be of an internationally recognised standard or higher (2* or above).

Overall Lincoln achieved an average score (Grade Point Average) of 2.54 out of 4.0 – an improvement of more than 30% on the last national Research Assessment Exercise in 2008.
