Work Placements

Linking You With the World of Work

The University of Lincoln is award winning for employer engagement and our excellent links to industry mean that during many of our courses you have the opportunity to undertake relevant work placements, get industry-specific career advice, hear from business experts and take part in relevant trips and visits. These insider experiences within your field of study enhance your employability when you graduate.

The University of Lincoln is committed to giving you the best start in your career and our team of employment professionals are here to support you to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to achieve your ambitions.

You could join the Employability Mentoring Scheme, a project which pairs students with senior staff and professionals from leading regional companies. You get support and advice via one-to-one meetings and have the chance to shadow your mentor at work, giving you a real insight into careers in your chosen field.

In an increasingly competitive job market, employers are looking for candidates who stand out. The Lincoln Award allows you to acquire transferable skills, in addition to those taught on your course, and to showcase your achievements to prospective employers. The Award is achieved by completing a series of employment-related workshops alongside part-time employment, voluntary work experience or extracurricular activities.
