UNI RECRUITS TOP MARKETING MAN
The former head of communications at
Lincolnshire County Council has been appointed as senior lecturer in Marketing
at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.
David Gannon, from Thurlby near Lincoln,
started work in his new role at the beginning of April. He is also helping
formulate the new Public Relations degree which will be launched at the Lincoln
campus in September.
“As well as working with Marketing students I
will be working closely with a team of lecturers including Public Relations
lecturer Frank Davis to help develop this new degree,” said David.
Before joining the university David was a
self-employed consultant with a local authority in London, but he spent two
years at the county council heading up the communications team.
For five years David was head of marketing at
Kirklees Metropolitan Council and he has worked for advertising agencies and as
a copywriter, putting together TV and radio commercials.
David lives in Thurlby with his wife Jacqui,
17-year-old daughter Lucy and son Jonathan, aged 10.
