STUDENTS HEAD TO ISLE OF MAN FOR
SPORTS FESTIVAL
A group of students from the University of
Lincolnshire & Humberside are competing in an annual student sports
festival later this month.
The 68 students from Lincoln and Hull will be
travelling to the Isle of Man on the 13th April for a three-day
competition, battling against universities from all over England, Scotland,
Northern Ireland and Wales.
Those representing the university will make
up the members of male and female football teams, mixed hockey, and netball
teams in an attempt to repeat the success of previous years.
The mixed hockey team were runners up last
year and in 1998, the mens’ seven-a-side team came top out of 200 teams
entered.
“Its good to see the University’s reputation
for sporting achievement has reached this national event, and we look forward
to more success at this year’s festival,” said university press officer Sam
Hendley.
