Student horse riders from four colleges will meet next week to test their skills in an equestrian contest at Riseholme Park.

The University of Lincoln is to host an equestrian inter-college competition on the afternoon of Monday 12th May.

Further education students from the Lincolnshire School of Agriculture, Bishop Burton College, Lincoln College and Brackenhurst Agricultural College will be taking part.

Sixteen riders will compete in dressage and showjumping events followed by a quiz.

This will be the first event of its kind staged at Riseholme Park, though an FE inter-college competition was once a regular feature at the university’s former Caythorpe campus near Grantham.

Members of the public, reporters and photographers are welcome to attend the event, which begins at 1.30pm and is due to end at around 5pm.
