Event Information
There are two sides to every story. When we see headlines in the press how often do we look beyond them to examine the facts of the story and judge them on their own merits? This Be Inspired day combining English, Journalism and Creative Writing is designed to look at the relationship between the three and how they impact the way we consume media.
In the journalism workshop, students can produce their own radio news bulletin, working together to write up stories, add clips from interviews, decide a running order, and present it from our very own news studios.
In the creative writing workshop students can explore their understanding of truth. By experimenting with language, tone, and perspective across writing exercises guided by published authors, they can see how truth is presented and received.
Our Be Inspired Days are ideal for small groups of students currently studying similar subjects at sixth form or college. To find our more about our Be Inspired programme, visit our Be Inspired webpage.
