At Lincoln, we're here to support you as you support your young person in their transition to university. From choosing a course and submitting an application, to applying for accommodation and organising student finance, there are many things to consider and you may have lots of questions. To make things as simple as possible, we've brought together lots of useful information to help you navigate the process.
We know that transitioning into university study can be a big change, but it's important to know that your young person is not alone and that we're here to support them through every step of their journey with us. If you have any questions about the support we offer or have any specific needs you would like to discuss with us, why not speak to our friendly team at an Open Day or one of our on-campus events.
At Lincoln, most of our students are moving away from home for the first time, which is why we offer plenty of support to help ease the transition to living at university. We have a variety of options to suit different budgets, and all of our accommodation is either on campus or a short distance away, which means that almost everything they could need is right on their doorstep. Our friendly Residence Life Team are here to offer support when it's needed, as well as variety of social activities that students can get involved in.
Due to our fantastic location in the heart of Lincoln, our students are just a short walk away from a range of restaurants, cafes, and bars that overlook the beautiful marina area, The eclectic mix of pubs and entertainment venues that are available in the city centre are perfect for socialising and making friends.
We understand that going to university is a significant investment, which is why preparing our students for their future career in the global graduate jobs market shapes our student experience from the day they enrol. Alongside our expert teaching staff, we have a dedicated, award-winning Careers and Employability Team to support. Our Campus Jobs Team can also support in finding flexible, part-time work that fits around their studies.
Each year, many of our students also go abroad to study, work, or volunteer. An international experience can boost a student's academic and personal development and help them gain a whole range of new skills, from problem solving to learning a new language. Students who go abroad can improve their confidence, grow their independence, and potentially increase their employment prospects.
At Lincoln, you can get insights from current students by connecting via Unibuddy. Unibuddy allows your young person to message to one of our friendly student ambassadors to ask any questions they might have. Once they have an offer to study with us, they can also join our Unibuddy Community and connect with other offer holders from their chosen course, start chatting with potential housemates, and make friends with other students with similar interests before they arrive.
