Introduction
The Certificate of Higher Education in Criminology and Social Policy is a one year programme of study, which aims to procide students with a solid knowledge base, covering images of crime and criminal justice, key social science concepts, social issues and justice, and the application of research skills to social problems.
Modules
All Level 1 modules of the BA (Hons) Criminology and Social Policy programme must be successfully completed for the award of the Certificate of Higher Education. The programme has been designed to provide students with the opportunity, upon successful completion, to progress directly into Level 2 of the full degree programme.

Career Opportunities
This programme is designed to provide successful students with the opportunity to progress directly on to our full degree programme. We aim to prepare our BA (Hons) Criminology and Social Policy students for careers including roles in criminal justice agencies, local government, and the public sector, in policy development, within Parliament, lobbying or research with think tanks, or in the charity and not-for-profit sectors. Graduates may also choose to continue to study at postgraduate level.
