Introduction

The International Tourism Management Certificate in Higher Education is a one year programme of study designed to introduce students to the foundations of contemporary tourism management. Students can examine key functions and the founding theories that underpin contemporary tourism. During the one year programme, the course introduces the challenges associated with the responsible management of tourism. After successfully completing this programme students may pursue employment opportunities across a broad range of businesses or apply for progression onto our BA (Hons) International Tourism Management.


Modules

All Level 1 core modules of the BA (Hons) International Tourism Management must be successfully completed, in addition to two optional modules, for the award of the Certificate of Higher Education. An indicative list of modules is provided on the full degree page module tab. The programme has been designed to provide students with the opportunity, upon successful completion, to progress directly into Level 2 of the full degree programme.

Career Opportunities

This programme is designed to provide successful students with the opportunity to progress directly on to our full degree programme. Students on our full BA (Hons) International Tourism Management are supported in developing the skills and knowledge needed to fulfil roles in management, finance, marketing, and public relations. Graduates have been employed in culture and heritage management, local tourism development, and by airlines and independent tour operators. Some students have also gone on to study further at postgraduate level.
