WOW Summer School

Getting Prepared for Lincoln

The Wellbeing Orientation Welcome or WOW Summer School is our award-winning transitional summer school for students with a diagnosis or a condition that may make the transition from further education to university more challenging.

This free event takes place across three days and two nights on our Brayford Pool Campus, and it is your opportunity to start to feel at home, get to know us, and learn more about the University and what support is on offer.

Applications are now open for our next WOW Summer School, taking place from 23-25 July 2025. To be eligible, you must have a conditional, contextual, or unconditional offer from the University of Lincoln; made us your firm choice, plan to join us from September 2025, and meet one or more of the categories listed on UCAS as a student with individual needs.

If you have any questions you can get in touch with us by emailing studentwellbeing@lincoln.ac.uk

Make Friends, Experience University, and Have Fun

This event is about you getting to know us, and you'll be given a timetable of activities that can include icebreaker sessions, academic experiences, and tours of the Brayford Pool Campus. You'll also have plenty of time to socialise with other attendees and make friends before you join us in September. Listen to what least years students have had to say about their experiences of WOW Summer School.

Live the Student Life

The Summer School isn't just about getting to know us, it's also about getting a taste of student life. The event is semi-self catered, with breakfast provided each day, making it a great opportunity to experience what it's like to live away from home. Whether you want to cook your own food or make use of one of the great restaurants and takeaways just minutes away, you'll have plenty of choices.

You'll be given your own room in our modern Cygnet Wharf accommodation to stay in. Each room has key card access, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and access to a fully-equipped shared kitchen and communal space. Based close to the heart of campus, you'll be a short walk away from sessions and the city centre.

Explore Your City

You'll have plenty of free time across the event to explore your new city. Whether it's shopping, green spaces, food, or entertainment, we have it all. Take a look at our Discover Lincoln page for some inspiration on what to do when you're here.
