Who is it for?

The Global Leaders Scholarship has been established to recognise international applicants who can demonstrate the highest levels of academic, personal, and extracurricular endeavour. The scholarship is available to international students and is valued at 50% of tuition fees for one year of study.

Eligibility and How to Apply

The Global Leaders Scholarship is competitive and students are required to submit an application form in order to be considered. In order to apply for the scholarship, you must already have an offer of a place at the University of Lincoln for an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme commencing in September 2025 or January 2026. Please note that this scholarship is not available to students with home fee status.

Students who are in the process of completing their studies at the time of submitting their scholarship application will need to provide a copy of their most recent academic transcripts as part of their scholarship application. 

For students intending to join an undergraduate programme, the transcripts should evidence high school grades that are equivalent to 128 UCAS points or above. Students intending to join a postgraduate taught programme will need to evidence grades from their undergraduate degree which are equivalent to a 2:1 or higher.

In addition to meeting the above academic requirements students must complete a Global Leaders Scholarship Application Form. The form must be completed and submitted by one of the following closing dates:

For a programme of study commencing in September 2025:
Round 1: Friday 10 January 2025
Round 2: Friday 7 March 2025
Round 3: Friday 6 June 2025

For a programme of study commencing in January 2026:
Round 1: Friday 3 October 2025
Round 2: Friday 7 November 2025 

The Selection Process

The Global Leaders Scholarship is competitive and will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate the highest levels of academic, personal, and extracurricular endeavour within their scholarship application form.

The University endeavours to notify students of the outcome of their scholarship application within 10 working days of the applicable round closing date. 

Global Leaders Scholar Events and Opportunities 

Recipients of the Global Leaders Scholarship will receive invitations to attend exclusive events throughout the year, enabling you to connect and network with fellow scholars. There will also be an opportunity to attend a scholarship award ceremony.

Scholarship recipients will also receive an invitation after enrolment to apply to become a University of Lincoln International Student Ambassador. If you are selected to be an International Student Ambassador, you will be expected to play an important role in helping to share what makes Lincoln a fantastic place to live and study.

As an International Student Ambassador, you may be asked to:

Prior to becoming an International Student Ambassador you will need to complete a Right to Work Check with the University’s Careers and Employability Team. Your invitation to become an Ambassador will include further details about the selection process and how to apply.
