From Script to Screen
Lincoln’s industry-focused film and media courses are designed to help you become an imaginative, creative, and culturally aware 21st Century media practitioner, with a thorough understanding of the creative industries and the ability to analyse and challenge media conventions. They enable you to find your own creative voice in whichever field you are most passionate, while gaining important hands-on experience for your future career.

Arts Foundation Year
Our Arts Foundation Year is designed as a pathway to undergraduate study for those who are not sure which subject to study at degree level, may have had a break in education, or perhaps do not have the standard entry requirements for a degree.
Practical Production and Theory
Many of our courses place an emphasis on practical production informed by theory. From the outset, you'll be able to produce original material and have access to professional-standard equipment and resources. Our dedicated and experienced staff are here to help you thrive and succeed throughout your time with us.
What I enjoyed the most was learning both theoretical concepts and professional practices. Each assignment allowed a personal approach where I collaborated creatively with students on other courses and outside the University, which helped with developing professional relationships.

We have strong links with media and film organisations including the BBC, ITV, Panasonic, Sky, Adobe, BAFTA, the Royal Television Society, and the British Film Institute, which create opportunities for work experience and networking. Our international partnerships with universities from across Europe, the USA, China, South East Asia, Australia, and Latin America, also provide exciting overseas study opportunities for our students.

Audio Production Suite
iMacs running Pro Tools software for audio post-production and electronic music production workshops. We also have self-contained audio edit suites for group project work with iMac/Pro Tools systems running Ableton, Sibelius, and Vienna Symphonic library.
Lincoln Sound Theatre
A Pro Tools 5.1 dubbing theatre for mixing sound to picture, featuring a large-screen projector, a full Foley sound effects area and a commentary booth for voice-over and ADR. Plus Sound Theatre B, a smaller facility for stereo audio post-production work.
TV Studios
We have two TV studios, one with an audience capacity of 135 and an area of over 2,500 sq ft. Features include, high definition 1080i studio cameras, extensive studio lighting, sound desk, autocue, and audio and video software connectivity.
The Parlour
The Parlour is a high-end finishing and grading suite and provides colour correction, creative compositing, and image repair. It is equipped with high-spec Mac Pros, high-grade monitors, and tangent panel control surfaces. Software includes Autodesk SMOKE, FLAME, and DaVinci Resolve.
Video Editing and Post Production
The Media and Broadcast Production Centre offers non-linear digital post-production for HD video editing. There are 18 HD video editing suites, each with 8TB storage and 32GB RAM and featuring Avid Media Composer V8, Adobe Premiere CC, DaVinci Resolve, and a range of other software. We offer full HD shooting and editing, using Panasonic AVcHD, Canon C100, and Sony FS100 cameras.

Radio studios
Dynamic spaces for producing live programmes, pre-recorded content, and radio drama. The drama studio is based around the industry specification 12 channel Audient ASP8024 mixing desk and Apollo 16 audio interface. Students are able to choose between using professional standard Pro-Tools or Adobe Audition software to produce audio for broadcast. Two main studios for live radio production are equipped with Sonifex desks and fitted with the industry standard Myriad playout system.
Multi-track Recording Studios
Two multi-track recording studios comprise control rooms and recording areas including live rooms, dead rooms, and a drum isolation booth for music and drama production. Equipment includes: Pro Tools, Audient ASP8024 mixing consoles (24 and 12 channels), UA Apollo and Antelope Orion AD/DA, Genelec 8030A and Mix Cube monitoring.
