Placements and Practical Experience

Through our excellent professional links with the fitness industry, and our engagement with employers, we're ensuring that market needs and employer expectations are considered throughout our curriculum. Our students can undertake applied assessments and work placements in real-world settings to gain practical experience and a competitive edge when they graduate. We have strong links with the local community and work closely with Lincoln City Football Club, Lincoln United, and Lincolnshire Cricket, as well as the Students’ Union, providing opportunities for students to offer coaching or sport science support to local teams.

The course was exactly what I was looking for and offered everything I needed to develop my skills to work in the sports industry.

The Human Performance Centre

The Human Performance Centre offers specialist laboratories feature modern equipment in order to undertake physiological and biomechanical assessments. Our labs are equipped for both the teaching of students, academic research, and also outside consultancy with businesses and elite athletes.

Our students can study and carry out research in the University’s Human Performance Centre. These specialist facilities enable you to learn the fundamental applications that underpin health and exercise science, and you can access equipment from the first week of study. The dedicated practical and teaching spaces include physiology, biomechanics, and psychology laboratories, along with a specialist strength and conditioning suite and a sports therapy teaching space.
