General Qualification Requirement

English Language Requirements

Foundation Entry into International Year 1

Successful completion Diplom-Motevasseteh/ High School Diploma (3 years). For more information about our Foundation International Year 1 courses click here.

  • IELTS 4.0 or equivalent (no minimum writing requirement)
  • Pearson test of English (PTE) 36 across all skills.

Undergraduate Entry

The Peeshdaneshgahe (Pre-University Certificate) with a minimum of 14/20 or the Konkur (National University Entrance Examination) may be considered for direct entry to a Bachelor’s degree.

An Associate Degree (Kardani or Fogheh Diplom) with good grades from a recognised institution in Iran will also be considered for direct entry to an undergraduate programme.

Successful completion of other UK Foundation courses may be considered

A levels

International Baccalaureate (IB)


  • IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score)
  • Pearson Tests Overall score: 54 (Listening: 51, Speaking: 51, Reading 51, Writing 51)
Some programmes may require a higher English proficiency score. If this is the case, information will be shown on the course information pages.  

Postgraduate Entry

Karshenasi/Lisans (Bachelor’s Degree) from a recognised institution. You will usually be expected to have a final grade of between 13-16/20.

Doctora dar reshteh (Professional Doctorate) in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy or Veterinary medicine.

We also accept students with a 3 year UK bachelor degree.

MPhil/PhD applicants normally require a Bachelor degree as well as a Master’s degree from a UK university or a Karshenasi Arshad/Foghe Lisance (Master’s Degree) from a recognised university in Iran.

You will need to show details of your acceptance onto a programme, your offer letter and evidence of sufficient funding to support your education and living expenses while you are in the UK.
